The Oppo Find X5 is a flagship phone with a flagship. The dual 50 MP cameras with Hasselblad tuning can deliver outstanding photos, with a custom MariSilicon X NPU for superior image processing.
The Snapdragon 888 chip is extremely fast, for the top of the line performance at all occasions.
With Oppo's 80W SUPERVOOC technology, you can be sure you will never be low of battery, with charging from 0% to 100% within an impressive 34 minutes.
If you're looking for an ever faster device, you can shell out a bit more for the Oppo Find X5 Pro.
The Oppo Find X5 has a top of the line AMOLED display, measuring at 6.55 inches. The panel is capable of producing over 1 billion colours, with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ content support. The resolution is very high at 1080 x 2400 pixels, with a sharp 402 pixel per inch density.
Oppo also includes their O1 Ultra Vision Engine technology, which is capable of enhancing resolution and increasing vividness for games and videos.
The display itself is curved around the phone, for an invisible bezel around the side. At the top left, there’s a small pinhole cutout for the selfie camera.
Unlike its big brother, the Find X5 Pro, the Find X5 will come with the slightly less powerful Snapdragon 888. This is the previous generation chip from Qualcomm, but still is an extremely fast processor, capable of running all apps and games at maximum performance.
Starting from 8GB RAM, there’s more than enough memory for even power users:
- 8GB memory, 128GB storage
- 8GB memory, 256GB storage
- 12GB memory, 256GB storage
The Oppo Find X5 comes with a very large camera sensor, featuring a 50 MP wide f/1.8 camera, 50 MP ultrawide f/2.2 ultrawide camera and 13 MP telephoto f/2.4 camera.
This is almost identical to the Oppo Find X5 Pro, except the main wide camera is slightly larger at f/1.8, compared to f/1.7.
Oppo have collaborated with Hasselblad for the camera tuning, with the Hasselblad Camera technology. Their Natural Colour Calibration can deliver more natural looking and accurate colours, with a distinct camera app that makes it feel as if you are using a Hasselblad Camera.
The phone will also feature Oppo’s proprietary MariSilicon X NPU, specifically designed for image processing. The 6nm AI chip with 18TOPS can deliver huge improvements for images in low light, particularly with video recording with the HDR 4K Ultra Night Video shooting mode. By offloading the workload from the main processor, Oppo claims the MariSilicon X chip can independently process 8 trillion operations per second, for faster image processing with improved quality output.
On the front, there’s a large 32 MP wide f/2.4 selfie camera, which is placed within a round cutout at the top left of the display.
Android 12 will initially ship with the Oppo Find X5, using Oppo’s own customisations with ColorOS 12.1. Oppo recently announced they will offer 3 Android updates and 4 years of security updates for most of their devices.
The design of the OPPO Find X5 looks unique and premium, with a beautiful curved display on the front that seamlessly blends in with the sides. The frosting matt glass throughout the design delivers a shiny gloss for a phone that is easy to hold.
On the back, the camera bump also has a unique but distinct design - almost like a hand drawn bubble that slides in with the material. There’s also a prominent Hasselblad logo on the rear, which Oppo is clearly proud to show off.
With Oppo’s 80W SUPERVOOC technology, the Find X5 can charge from 1% to 100% within an impressive 34 minutes. The large 4800mAh battery is capable of delivering more than a day of battery life.
There’s also fast 30W wireless charging, which can charge to 100% within an hour.
In addition, with 10W reverse wireless charging, you can also charge your other devices when on the go.
The Oppo Find X5 will be available in 3 colours from launch:
