The Magic 4 Pro is Honor's first serious attempt at a premium phone for the worldwide market.

The Magic 4 Pro has all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a flagship phone, with speedy performance, excellent battery life and a terrific camera.

Honor have delivered a smartphone that is able to compete with the Samsung Galaxy series, while managing to undercut price by a large margin.

Display

The frame on the Honor Magic 4 Pro is engineered to produce minimal bezels around the display.

The seamless panel is a large 6.81 inch OLED display, with LPTO technology. The adaptive 120Hz refresh rate can automatically adjust between 1Hz and 120Hz, optimising battery life while still delivering a silky smooth scrolling experience and fast frame rate for action packed games.

The display also includes Honor’s 1920Hz PWM Dimming technology, which is able to reduce eye strain by adjusting the screen’s temperature and hue.

With a high 1312 x 2848 pixels resolution, the display on the Honor Magic 4 Pro delivers cripst images and videos.

Performance

For a flagship phone, you’d expect best in class performance. Thankfully, the Honor Magic 4 Pro delivers, using Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset for excellent performance with general usage and intensive gaming.

With Honor’s GPU Turbo X and LINK Turbo X proprietary technology, the Magic 4 Pro is able to deliver the best gaming performance while minimising battery usage, resulting in a phone that can game for hours upon end without requiring a recharge.

Furthermore, Honor has engineered precise cooling hardware and heatsinks, allowing the Magic 4 Pro to push performance to the edge without overheating or throttling.

Camera

The Magic 4 Pro packs a huge triple 50 MP camera with Ultra Fusion Photography technology, which is intelligently able to detect the scene and adjust the camera without you having to raise a finger, resulting in professional looking photos.

The large sensor is able to deliver a 3.5x optical zoom and incredible 100x digital zoom, allowing you to capture precise detail for far away subjects.

As for video recording, the camera can shoot in Magic-Log Pro mode, which preserves original details and colour temperatures for professional movie footage that can be manually adjusted in post production.

The front features a 12 MP selfie camera coupled with a 3D depth camera for enhanced face unlocking security.

Operating System

The Magic 4 Pro ships with Magic UI 6, which is Honor’s version of Android 12.

Honor has added extra functionality on top of Google’s OS, which enhances the experience without being unnecessarily intrusive.

Honor has promised at least 2 years of major Android updates.

Design

The Honor Magic 4 Pro has a very iconic and elegant design.

The all metal frame comes in a multitude of colours, with a premium finish that is pleasant to look at and feels good to hold.

The front is nearly all screen, with small bezels at the top and bottom. There’s a pill shaped cutout at the top for the selfie camera, without a notch.

On the rear, there’s a distinct circle design surrounding the camera arrays at the top centre of the phone. The unique design for a phone replicates a look traditionally seen with professional digital cameras.

Battery life

With a large 4500 mAh battery and optimised AI chip, the Honor Magic 4 Pro delivers more than a day of battery life, even with extreme use cases.

Further, with 100W fast charging technology, the Magic 4 Pro can charge from 1% to 100% in just under 30 minutes. You even get a USB-C Honor 100W SuperCharge charger in the box to take advantage of the fast charging technology without having to buy a separate adapter.

As well as fast wireless charging, there’s even 100W fast wireless charging, which can deliver almost identical charging speeds, allowing the battery to be charged to 50% in 15 minutes.
