In its Q3 FY24 trading update, Vodafone added an impressive 18,000 customers on mobile phone contacts between October and December 2023, as well as an additional 39,000 broadband customers.

The company attributed the growth to strong seasonal trading performance, as the UK slowly eases out of the ongoing cost of living crisis.

Despite being one of the more expensive networks in the UK (as mentioned in our review), Vodafone continues to add mobile customers, with its generous trade-in offers and flexible plans.

The company also provided a brief update on its merger with Three, which was initially proposed in June 2023. In the agreement, CK Hutchison, who own 3 UK, will have a 49% share in the new company, with Vodafone acquiring a majority 51% stake. Vodafone said they expect the merger to close around December 2024, following regulatory (Ofcom and legal) and shareholder approval. If approved, the new company plans to invest £11 billion in the UK, with a particular focus on 5G infrastructure.
