With the discontinuation of the Samsung Galaxy Note, it seems Samsung is trying to integrate its S Pen with more of its premium phones. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the first S phone to have built in S Pen support, hinting at Samsung’s new direction with their stylus technology.

A new report suggests the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 will also be receiving the S Pen treatment, with an S Pen included the box and a slot within the phone to store the stylus. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 does support S Pen technology, however it is not included in the box, nor is there is a stylus slot.

The S Pen will not require a separate battery, and will be powered by a magnetic charge from the display. This is a similar technology Apple uses with their Apple Pen.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 is expected to release in August 2022, and will lead Samsung’s foldable screen push. Although the design is expected to stay the same, improvements will be made to the cameras, hinge and displays.
