Samsung are rolling out the March 2022 security update for the Snapdragon versions of the Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22+ and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, as firmware version S90xEXXU1AVBF.

This appears to be the same security update released late last month for the Exynos versions of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series.

Samsung haven’t disclosed a changelog for the update, however it doesn’t appear to fix any major security bugs or add any noteworthy changes.

Recently, Samsung were caught throttling apps with Game Optimisation Service (GOS) in what appeared to be a disguised attempt to save battery life. After backlash, they promised an update would be released shortly in order to allow users to disable GOS, however this new update does not appear to introduce this option. We’ll likely have to wait for the April 2022 security update, at the earliest.

The new security update is rolling out gradually. You should soon receive an OTA update notification. Alternatively, you can try and force the update by opening Settings -> Software update.
