Google Pixel 6 update reduces vibration intensity

Following numerous batched updates for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, Google appear to have struck again, this time with reports of lower vibration intensity.

With the new update installed, users are reporting reduced vibration intensity for notifications and calls. There are several posts on reddit which mention missed calls and alarms as a result of the new update.

It’s not clear if the change is meant to be intentional. However, changing the vibration intensity in the settings appears to have no effect at all, with the intensity remaining at a single level regardless of any changes made.

To add to the confusion, in a March 2022 update post, Google addressed the vibration issues from a previous beta version of Android 12L, with a patch that is said to introduce a “fix for issue causing weaker haptic feedback in certain conditions”. However, it appears the bug in the beta version has made its way to the stable version release, which is particularly unusual. It's possible the fix introduced another bug that was not caught before release.

Last month, users reported various issues with Wi-Fi and network connectivity. Google were slow to address the issues, and only released a patch earlier this month.
