EE roaming - International roaming with EE explained

By Adrian Vincent 21 Aug 2021, 11:00 EE international roaming

You may be able to use your EE allowance when roaming internationally.

The amount you pay depends in the country you are visiting and the type of plan you have.

From January 2022, you will have to pay to use your allowance within the EU, unless you have a plan that allows you to choose an additional add-on at no additional cost.

You may be able to use your allowance in selected countries for free if you have a Smart Benefits plan.

EE EU roaming - after Brexit

Starting from January 2022, you may have to pay to use your regular allowance within the EU.

If you have a Smart Benefits plan, you can choose one add-on per month at no additional cost. You can choose the Roam Abroad add-on, which effectively allows you to use your allowance within the EU for free.

For all other plans, you will need to pay to use your allowance within the EU. You will also need to pay if you have a Smart Benefits plan, but instead choose a free add-on that is not the Roam Abroad add-on.

If your contract started before 7 July 2021, you will be entitled to free EU roaming until you change, upgrade or renew your contract, after which the new rules will apply.
