Can I get unlimited data with an Asda Mobile SIM?
Yes, Asda Mobile offers 3 unlimited data SIM only plans, with different speed limits for each:

Currently, Asda Mobile do not offer unlimited data plans without speed limits.
Asda Mobile do not have a fair usage policy on the amount of data you can use, including with unlimited data SIMs.
Can I use my Asda Mobile SIM abroad?
You can use your Asda Mobile SIM when roaming in most countries.
For countries within the EU, you can continue to use your allowance at no additional cost, including minutes, texts and data.
However, there is a fair usage cap of 5GB per month when roaming in the EU. If you exceed this limit, you will be charged 10p per MB until the start of the next month, when your allowance resets.
For countries outside the EU, you won’t be able to use your normal allowance. Instead, you will be charged at an out of plan rate, which can vary from country to country.

Can I get 5G with Asda Mobile?
Most Asda Mobile SIM plans include 5G, but not all of them.
Only the 3GB and 5GB data SIM plans do not include 5G. With these plans, the maximum signal you will receive is 4G.
For all other plans, 5G is included at no additional cost. You will need to have a 5G phone to benefit from faster speeds.
Since Asda Mobile is powered by Vodafone, you can expect identical 5G coverage and speeds.

Can I get an Asda Mobile SIM if I have a bad credit rating?
Asda Mobile is an ideal network for those with a bad credit rating, since they only offer 30 day SIM only deals, with no long term contracts. This means you’re almost guaranteed to be accepted.
Do I need to unlock my phone to use an Asda Mobile SIM?
If your phone was purchased within the last 2 years, it should already be unlocked, meaning you will be able to use it with an Asda Mobile SIM without needing to do anything.
Since December 2021, Ofcom rules state that networks can no longer sell locked phones.
If you purchased your phone before this date, you may need to unlock it before using it with an Asda Mobile SIM.
You can check if your phone is unlocked by inserting a SIM from a different network from when you purchased it. If it is locked, a warning message will show when powered on.
Unlocking your phone is free. You will need to contact the network your phone is locked to, and provide your IMEI number, which you can obtain by entering *#06# from your dialer.
Which size SIM cards can I get with Asda Mobile?
Asda Mobile offer all SIM card sizes. You will be sent a standard SIM card size, which will have cutouts that can be broken down to a micro SIM or nano SIM. Currently, Asda Mobile do not support eSIMs.
Standard - the largest SIM card size, which is generally used with older non-smartphones. Newer phones are likely to use micro or nano SIMs.
Micro - Once considered a smaller replacement for standard SIMs, micro SIMs are less prevalent today, being replaced by the even smaller nano SIM. Older smartphones or budget phones may still use a micro SIM.
Nano - The smallest and most common SIM card size used in phones sold today. Used by the newer iPhones and Samsungs.
Can I switch from my current network to an Asda Mobile SIM?
Yes, switching from your current network to Asda Mobile is easy, and should take no more than 3 working days.
You need to obtain a PAC code from your current network. You can do this instantly by texting PAC to 65075 for free. You will receive a reply within 5 minutes, containing your PAC code.
You then need to hand this PAC code to Asda Mobile. You will need to activate your Asda Mobile SIM first. Once you have done this, you can enter your PAC code from your account, by clicking My Profile and scrolling down to transferring your number.
You can also hand your PAC code to Asda Mobile by calling them for free on 2732.
Does Asda Mobile have good coverage?
Asda Mobile is 100% powered by Vodafone, which means it has the same great coverage and 5G speeds.
Asda Mobile claim their coverage can reach 99% of the UK population.
In addition to excellent coverage, Asda Mobile also have Wi-Fi calling with all their plans, which means you’ll still be able to make texts and calls even if you have a poor signal, as long as you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. This works automatically, and doesn't cost any extra.

In Opensignal’s September 2021 report, Vodafone ranked 3rd for speed, with average download speeds of 21.6 Mbps and upload speeds of 7.4 Mbps.
